This study examines the interaction between green skills and key non-digital competencies – including learning autonomy, teamwork, communication skills, and problem-solving skills – among students from the University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” (Bulgaria) and the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest (Romania). In the context of green transformation and technological change, understanding the preparation of the future workforce for sustainable professions becomes critical. The study measures students’ self-assessment of these competencies, compares the results between the two universities and identifies areas for development. The results provide valuable information for adapting curricula and policies to support the green economy, highlighting the need to integrate green skills with basic professional and social competencies.
